Are you happy?
Everybody will certainly say, Yes. But are we really happy?
Things have changed. I notice that I have grown a lot. The feeling of hapiness inside is overflowing. I want to help more people than before.
Last night, I felt blessed. I was acknowledged. You might want to ask, what the heck? I tell you right now, since high school I had been longing to be acknowledged. I had organized some activities, some groups, some gatherings---they were all flop. I am so grateful until now that with my little act, I was acknowledged. I am happy right now and I am boosted to help more people. Nobody can stop me right now in helping others financially anchored with Him.
So, am I happy? Yes I am...but I am really happy? Tell you what, I will get there. :)

Am I A Failure?
For the past few days, never a day passed that I thought of myself as a loser. Most of the aspect that I want to be in seems like trembling and just waiting for the perfect moment to fall. Am I really a failure? Do I have the right to be successful? Do I still exist in the world of successful people? The answers to my questions...I really don't know. Much as I really want to help others, more that I am going farther away. Why? I can't even help myself.
Help me, dear Lord.
Help me, dear Lord.

Star Talk
I have read an article about entitled "Two-Faced Christian". I have nothing against it but I want to share my thoughts on this.
I agree that stars do tell events. How did our three magi found the lovely infant Jesus? Simple because of a star. Coincidence? Accident? (From Kung Fu Panda---There is no accident!) I think not. I believe that stars were made by our Big Guy to talk with us in an unfashionable manner. Only those with given talents can interpret them.
Every bit we see have their story even stars (with God, its just a piece of a piece of cake). They tell how magnificent God is. We are just a single bit, but we are special. God loves us. How about you, what's your story?
Hey, have you seen a meteor shower lately?

I am tired.
Now I have experienced what the word "work" means.
Right now, I have to complete six reports. Three short reports and three long reports. I am done with two short reports. One more to go, and three long reports to go???? Argh! But I am positive about this. I can do this! Yiba!!!
School days are now over. I miss school. I miss the "ligoy" moments. I miss sitting in my room back in Iloilo city doing nothing but surfing and downloading from the internet.
Anyway, back to work. Oh, really?
See you soon. Btw, nice outfit.

Tough Is The Word
What if you like somebody but she doesn't even know you? strange, huh?
I know how it feels. It is awkward. It is intimidating. It is addicting (I mean, you want to see her almost 24/7). People you admire (crush for teenies) come and go. There's nothing you can do but stare at them. I know of a guy whose weakness is girls. Beautiful girls. He once told me that they are his Kryptonite. He has a reputation of being a chickboy, but man, when I was observing him talk, he was like me: a torpe-kinda-guy. There is really nothing wrong about admiring somebody. But when you get addicted, give yourself a break. It may lead to disaster.
I like somebody right now (is this something new? well, scroll marked I: today I begin a new life). She's petite (thanks mike and christian for the term). Her name sounds like my ex-girlfriend but of different spelling. need to know more? Read it on my future blogs.

Blue
I missed my favorite color---Blue.
As I was scanning some files in my external hard disk, I came to view a photo which reminded me of my favorite color. Recently, I am into dark colors. To be specific...black. I want a magician image. Wearing black shirt, black pants, black cap, black socks, and black under wear. I admit, I love black but tonight (by the way, it is 11:51 in the evening), I am beginning to love blue again...dark blue, that is.

What If...
There are still a lot of things I wish to achieve before I get 25. Whew, I have two years left. Anyway, today is a holiday. That means that I should not be here in my cubicle, but I insisted last night.
I have worked on the chips assigned to me for almost two week. I was told that I should expect a shipment each week. That means I have something to work on every week. This afternoon, I feel tired sitting and looking thru the microscope. Looking on a tiny package that does big things. Do I make sense? See, that's what I'm talking about. Focusity out of specification sheet.
Anyway, I still have to investigate something under the microscope and under the radar. Catch you later...
awoo! awoo!

He Finds Ways
4th of June 2008. 6:50 a.m. A month from now it will be the 4th of July. But this blog has nothing to do with USA's 4th of July.
Two shuttles passed before my eyes. I wasn't in either of those shuttles. Consequence? Might get late for work. It's great that jeepneys come in handy.
From the apartment, I had a two-minute walk to the hi-way. Then the shuttles passed by. Then I decided to take the jeepney. Manong driver was so patient in waiting for the other passengers while there I was impatient waiting for the other passengers. When I arrived in Manggahan, I stepped out of the jeepney and waited for a different jeepney bound to where I work. It was 7:20 a.m. Tic toc, tic toc. I felt that I am almost out of time. I didn't ride in the jeepney with "patient" drivers (if you get what I mean). So, I found myself inside an unregistered jeepney. Hassle-free. I arrived at the gate 7:27 a.m.
"Will I get late?" 7:35 a.m. is the allowed time for not to be marked with Late. And of course, no salary deduction. I walked hurriedly towards the entrance of our company. It was 7:33 a.m. in my watch. Two minutes left then I will be offically called a latecomer (Oh, just like school days..hehe, well I didn't get late often. I was often absent! haha).
Finally I arrived at the entrance/exit door. It was 7:36 a.m. in my cellphone. Oh crap! I am late. I rushed at the swiping zone to log in. It was amazing. The time reads 7:30 a.m. I did it! Oh, I almost forgot. The set time in my cellphone is plus 6 minutes with reference to our company's set time. Whew! That was close.
I thank God for He did it again. Just like the song Love Moves in Mysterious Ways. I say God is Love. He works in mysterious ways.

The Blind Touch
Yesterday I went to Robinsons Dasma for reflexology. It was great even if I felt that I dislocated some of my joints and sprained my muscles. But it was rewarding, I had a great rest...and a great morning.
They say that the blind is a better massager. And I agree. Even if he doesn't have the soft touch, he has the blind touch. I admit, his smashing my back was painful but he hit the spot. I feel relieved. I feel ashame and guilty that I can see. I feel guilty that most blind end up in massage parlors. I feel guilty that most of them feel that they are only good in massage parlors. Today's reading in eDidache (online version sent through email...visit kerygmafamily.com for more information) is about a blind man and also a masseur. I admit, I can see but I cannot see further and see what is behind every picture. I am blinder than a blind man.
I hope that I can see God clearer just like the blind man in the reading. I am weak. I feel guilty. I am worse than a blind man. Anyway, I hope that my tip for that blind who massaged me helped even a little. My respect for you, my blind friend.

Thank God, I am acknowledged
I feel glad that I am acknowledged of the simple magic that I do.
I have this feeling that I am an entertainer. Making others entertained makes me feel better and fulfilled. Compared with other magicians, I am billions of miles away. But I have something in common with the other great magicians--I give my all when I perform.
Magik, anyone? :)

21
Black Jack. One of the famous casino card games.
May 31, 2008.
I watched 21, a 2008 drama film from Columbia Pictures. For more information, visit www.sonypictures.com/movies/21. Anyway, I kinda like the film. I am challenged in playing Black Jack even though I never played it in big time casinos (even small time casinos). Puzzled after watching the movie, I want to know how the probabilities of the game is played. Just this afternoon, I have learned the basic strategies of the game (Oh, that reminds me of my book at the apartment. I might as well read it tonight.). What caught my eye is one of the characters named Jill Taylor. She is charming and I love her eyes. Guess what? She is Lois Lane---Kate Bosworth. Oh well, she reminds me of somebody. They're both cute, and lovely. haha..enough talk. I will go to SM Dasma after this. Unwind. Think. And find some cheap magical items.
Anyway, see you soon! Poker, anyone? :)

Coincidence
The stars are above you. Coincidence?
I have been with my present company for almost four months. Somebody once told me that after my birthday, I will have new chapter in my life. My phone rang days before my birthday then I was hired days after I turned 23.
Many of us believe that things are destined to happen. Many of us also believe that they are just coincidence. As defined by WordWeb, coincidence is an event that might have been arranged although it was really accidental. Which side should you believe?
I had a nice morning. It was a great morning. I had a great sleep. I had a dream, I saw stripes.
Hmmm....

March 27, 2008.
I had a great afternoon, so lovely. It is funny to think how simple my happiness is. You want to know what? Well, its a scene in the afternoon--Sunset. I was in the middle of the street when I noticed how beautiful it was. The light of the sun blocked by several clouds exposing its beauty. If only I had captured it with hi-res cams. I would be treasuring it forever. Do I sound stupid?
Anyway, I like viewing the nature. Simply appreciating it makes me feel okay. I feel better seeing those simple things nature has made. Like a bug resting on a flower, a bee gathering honey, and even ants gathering food for the rainy season.
How I wish I may be able to see more of these simple things nature has to offer. I'm afraid that someday the next generations will only see them in pictures. I hope we can help save our planet.
Please help in conserving the beauty of our Home.

Thoughts About Magic
Magic---commercialized.
Magic exposed is almost everywhere. Many of us want to see how the magic is done, how the trick is done because most of us only want to know how...period. Unfortunately, a few of us want to see how the magic is done because we want to learn how it is done and how we can do it in our own way.
I love magic so much that I feel sad about the truth about it. Generally, magic is not as magical as before...not as mysterious as before...magic...magic...

Moon Talk
The moon shines bright tonight. I wish there is somebody right now that I can speak with how lovely the moon is.
I felt great this afternoon. I don't what the reason was. After work, I went to Robinson's Place Dasmarinas. I bought pants on sale, ate at Pizza Hut, and went home happily. It's good to know that I am happy after days of struggling with myself. I am who I am, and nobody can tell me who I am. I am with myself for 23 years, and I love me. What has that two previous lines do with my hapiness? Anyway...
Back to the moon. How I wish things were easy. I dunno...but I won't give up, promise. No too serious work as of this week. I will still undergo some training. I feel excited. I feel I am a CSI..that is Chip Semiconductor Investigator. Hey, I am in the semiconductor industry. Visit www.analog.com to know more about our products.
Do I make sense to you? Well, I thank the moon for saying I do make sense.

YATA! I did it!
Last Friday (May 16, 2008), the Product Anlysis Group of Analog Devices Gen. Trias had a meeting. And one of the agenda was introducing the new members of the family. I am in the list and I thank everybody in th PA Group for the warm welcome though it was cold and raining outside. There were three slides (I think) that were presented. Everything was fine until the last slide was shown. Boss Buddy will be transfering to another group. I was observing everybody. The conference room was quiet, they were shocked. How should I react when I only joined the group last Wednesday? I felt sad though. I can see that Boss Buddy is a great and supportive boss even if I have known him for days.
Anyway, what has "YATA! I did it!" to do with this blog? Earlier before the last slide was shown, there is this tradition that new members of the family showcase their talents. I did mine. Guess what I did? Let me read your mind...is it card magic? You are right! The time was limited so I had to think of an effect that works well. I brought the house down. YATA!!! I wasn't satisfied with my presentation though, so...during break times just ask me to show you my magic. I know I am not good enough in magic (I'm still one year old in the magic world). So don't compare me to David Blaine. My skills and talents are 1/10 of his.
I did it! A good teacher of mine once adviced me with regards to my skills and talents. He said that in order to be noticed, be different. If it requires you to look stupid and funny, do so. It will develop your self esteem. But please, don't overdo it because over funny and over confident will bring you down.
A confession: I like somebody right now, but will she even notice me? I don't care. But if she did, then whoa! I love performing magic to anybody. I love magic.

More is Less
I am puzzled with the thought: having more resources makes you feel that it is not enough.
Looking at my forecasted expenses, I feel that my earnings is not enough. If you take a look at the figures, they look good for an employee who is just starting. But it seems that I have a negative net value. From what I learned in a seminar, my lifestyle is one of the factors which makes more resources look less.
Cut the budget for food? I don't think so.

Lost
by
Niño P. Natividad
Few words in mind, yet can not make a poem
Still struggling on where or what? on house or home?
Nothing inspiring in the silence of the night
Ghostly stories made by believers of fright!
I speak worthless of the night's worthiness
Crickets praying, yet no rain in the wilderness
Silence of the night is indeed deafening
Worse when out of words, yet still assuming.
I recalled my past when I was a kid
So happy I was, realities I hid
A kid be growing...into a man of nothing
Nothing is everything the earth started living
Shall I continue writing with these eyes crawling?
Finding their ways into bed...realities awakening!
How shall I live tomorrow, what shall I do?
Nothing for everything, success from a few.

Confessions of the Little Boy
I am writing this with all my heart out.
It is almost 10 in the evening. I am currently listening to Jim Brickman music (that’s three days in a row if you read my previous blogs).
Last night, I had a dream of somebody. She was a past but I noticed this morning that last night was the second night I dreamt about her since I resided here in Dasmarinas, Cavite. I haven’t talked with her for several years already. She used to be my best friend, my student and teacher, my spiritual advisor, and my special someone (two years of courtship, two months of officially in a relationship…whew!). Everything seems to be fine in my dream. The two of us were happy in my dream like how happy we used to be. I am intrigued if I still have some feelings for her. I am not really sure right now but I guess she doesn’t have a bit for me…hmmm.
I was a big time loser and a successful jerk (may be still am to her). I was so immature that I didn’t even bother listening to her explanations why this and why that. If I could turn back the time, I wouldn’t bother turning it back. What happened already happened. There are reasons why things happen. I trust Him. But still, I was a big time loser and a successful jerk.
If ever she may read this blog entry, I want her to know that I am sorry. I know I am a past but I am presently sorry (ooppsss…senti mode/emo mode). Things change for the both of us but she has been a part of my life. I wouldn’t be who I am right now if she hadn’t been a part of me. I hate to admit this, but I miss her company.

Things change for the both of us but she has been a part of my life. I wouldn’t be who I am right now if she hadn’t been a part of me. I hate to admit this, but I miss her company.

Magicians David
I have noticed recently how powerful the name that starts with D in the magic industry. I am also intrigued by the thought why their names start with D especially Dai Vernon, David Blaine, David Copperfield. These three have something in common. They have the same names--David. Sorry Houdini, yours is an H.
Known as "The Professor". He was born David Frederick Wingfield Verner. A misconception is that he began to use the first name "Dai" after a newspaper mistyped "David", the paper actually was using the Welsh nickname for David. When Verner first moved to the United States, the male member of a popular ice-skating pair had the surname Vernon; Americans continually mistook Verner's last name to be the same as the popular ice skater, and eventually the magician became fed up with correcting people and simply adopted "Vernon" as well. Though he was not popular to the public, he was one of the most respected magicians to his fellow magicians.
David Blaine
Popular street and close-up magician. Born David Blaine White on April 4, 1973. He was born in Brooklyn to a Jewish mother and Puerto Rican father. His mother Patrice Maureen White was a school teacher living in New York, and his father William Perez is a Vietnam veteran. He was raised by his single mother. He attended many different schools in Brooklyn. He is called as the Houdini of the present time.
Born in Metuchen as David Seth Kotkin to Israeli parents, Hyman and Rivka. Copperfield began practicing magic at the age of 12, and became the youngest person ever admitted to the Society of American Magicians. He is best known for his combination of illusions and storytelling.
Should I have a David-name? I guess not. I am not yet worthy to have a David-name.

From Abyss
Do I feel alone right now? I am away from home.
I am troubled with what to write. A lot of ideas just flash in and flash out. I don’t know how to organize all of them. So, here I am writing whatever comes into my mind.
A new life will begin on the 16th of this month; I will be on my 3rd month here in Cavite and on my job. I am currently working at Analog Devices General Trias as a Junior Engineer. Also, I have mixed emotions when it comes with the said date. I will be deployed in the field where I will be using my talents and skills to help the company achieve its goals. I am more excited than frightened.
Now, you might notice that I don’t observe a specific topic. I mentioned earlier, I don’t know how to organize my thoughts. I am disoriented. All I want is to write what my mind speaks right now. Anyway...
Night sky is cloudy. No star in sight. It’s already 11 p.m. of May 12, 2008. I am still awake listening to Brickman music (again). I can’t sleep because I am troubled with my life. I am troubled with myself. I am troubled with my environment. I am troubled with my acquaintances and friends. I am troubled with almost everything. I guess I know what the reason is but I won’t tell you. Maybe it is because of the weather? It is drizzling tonight. See? I don’t make sense.
Everybody wants to buy everything. I have limited cash right now but I want to buy many things. TV, personal computer, digital camera, magic items, and car! I have only PhP500 left in my ATM. How the hell am I supposed to pay all of these? I can’t wait to buy them. But do I need all of them? *sigh* I have to be more goal-oriented and financially literate. I can do this!
Everything you want is not everything you need. Focusing…Zzzzzz.

Dark Themes
I love black and blue as my background in my personal web pages. I find it easier to blend with other shades such as yellow, red, orange, and white.
I have been making web pages since I was in my 3rd year high school. I was addicted in making and publishing web sites. If I remember right, I spent the whole summer after my 3rd year in high school making my webpage. It was really addicting. I developed my skills that summer in designing lay-outs and enhance photos using Adobe Photoshop.
I am a hard coder. I do not prefer working with softy web page makers. I still prefer notepad. Why? It gives me a hard time. It gives me a hard time looking for the bug. It gives me a lot of learnings. Big challenges. Big learnings. It is through hard works that you learn a lot.
Visit my unfinished website @ www.geocities.com/chuckystown.

Music In Me
I am listening to Jim Brickman music. I simply love his music especially when I am in “emo mode”. Right now I am in that mode.
For the past few days, I begin to like somebody. I discovered this afternoon that she has a resemblance with one of the few female artists who I find pretty. Now I know why I find her pretty especially when she smiles.
I like her. But I am torpe. Dadaanin ko na lang sa magic!
Anyway, it’s almost 12 midnight. I have to rest for the activities tomorrow. See you!

Weird
It feels weird seeing things that are weird. Weird, isn't it?
I have a thought that I want to post and I'm posting it right now.
"The problem with an automatic umbrella is that it is hard to use manually."
Stupid as it may sound but I found a deeper meaning unto it. Until my next post.
Weirdly,
Nino

The Sign
Last night I prayed for a sign (but I won't tell). This morning, it didn't happen. Is it really impossible?
Anyway, I'm thankful I'm alive.
Anyway, I'm thankful I'm alive.
D-Day
Today is D-Day.
May 8, 2008. All of us NCGs are uneasy. Today is Deliberation Day. After almost three months of training we will be tested. We will be asked, we will be examined, we will be determined. We will succeed.
God bless us all. Long live ADGT NCGs!

She Sounds Off
Last night I hated her.
She sounds not what I wanted her to sound. And I hate her for that. By the way, her name is Tiffany. She is my third Tiffany. Wondering who she is? She is my guitar.
Even if I hate her last night, I still love her because she is my music.

Strike!
Homesickness---a deadly disease.
I will be three months away from home on May 16, 2008. Time is indeed fast especially if you are thinking of your pay slip. I am almost settled here in our new apartment (again, a 14-year-old structure). My bedroom is almost complete. I say, 60% done. 40% left to make myself at home. Can anybody donate me a flat screen TV?
During my first week of stay in Cavite, I had sleepless nights and sleepy days. Why? Homesickness. Tonight, I had a talk with a friend. He was desirous of going home (Google his blog if you want to know more about it). It’s a disease that 90.92% (if my calculations were right) of those working far away from home are experiencing homesickness. I am included in that figure. I can’t guarantee myself that I will never experience being homesick. But I am much better in handling homesickness now.
I do not have a Ph.D. in Homesickness but here are some tips that I can share with people out there who misses their homes.

- Love your work or your studies.
- Keep yourself busy, but please don’t kill yourself by being too busy. Being busy and too busy are two different things.
- Think of your crush. Preferably those you can see in a day.
- Eat some sea foods! Steam some veggies! Yum yum!
- Don’t get late for work. Strive not to get late.
- Buy things that can be afforded by your excess cash. Spend only the extra money out of your savings. Prioritize saving if you are still starting your job.
- Invest today by saving. Read Bo Sanchez’s 8 Secrets to Real Rich People.
- Read a book! Og Mandino said that 90% of the total population is illiterate. I am in that 90% believe me.
- Watch your favorite movie. A movie date would be great (please refer to #3).
- Join an organization, a community, a fraternity/ sorority. A rock band perhaps?
- Skip this line.
- Perform magic! One of my favorites.
- Talk to your apartment mates. Laugh with them. Have fun with them even if they are making fun of you. They shall have their turn soon.
- Talk with God. Maybe listed last but the most important. I save the best for last, trust me.
- And the fifteenth? Second to the most important in my list will be… (drum rolls and entrance effects please)…et cetera. Thanks Sir Samson for the idea.
There many things that you can do to avoid if not, minimize homesickness. You can do something about it. Be creative my friend. You are not alone. Homesickness chooses anybody so be prepared. See you soon!
Always your friend,
Nino

Bad Hair Day
Yesterday, I watched Iron Man at Robinson's Cinema Dasmarinas. I shopped. I ate. Best of all, I had a haircut and massage. You might ask what kind of haircut do I have right now? Well, here's my clue: I am required to use less shampoo during shower.
Tell you what, I suck in writing. I'm still improving. Perfection requires practice. Anyway, I hope you had fun reading some of my posts.
Enjoi and God bless us all.

The Countdown
May 16 will be the BIG day and my blog site is two weeks old!
Eleven days from now, I will be deployed in the field. Mixed emotions. Scared? I think not. More of being excited. Workitopia here I come!
From 7.8% unemployment rate last January 2007, it has dropped by 0.4% last January 2008 (more at http://www.census.gov.ph/data/pressrelease/2008/lf0801tx.html). Yet many of our countrymen are still hungry. I am optimistic that the figures will continue to drop. I feel blessed that I am employed after graduation. I still haven't taken the ECE licensure exam but I will take it next year.

Before I decided to take the job offer, I ask for several insights. One of my mentors in the review center told me that I should have taken the exam last March 2008. Forget about the job offers first. He told me that jobs are everywhere when I have my license. Job is instant when I have it. Unfortunately, I accepted the offer. I talked with him after I accepted the offer, he told me that I am damn lucky. I told him, "Blessed, I think sir."
Well, that's it for now. I love the song I'm listening right now...If I Am by Nine Days.

Training Days
It is the end of May 2008. As my training in Analog Devices Gen. Trias is coming to its end, it would mean Bilang na ang mga masasayang araw ko. Why? Here are my top ten reasons:
- No regular food delivery
- No nappy nappy sessions
- No classroom setting type of training
- Editing my blog site would not be a priority
- Visiting accessible sites will never be as often as in the training
- No sound trip!
- Editing pictures for the blog would not be a priority
- Won't be around with the other 7 New College Graduates (NCGs) that often
- Trash talking with the other NCGs
- No ID, no entry.

I Am Blessed
I am happy to tell you that I feel blessed. I slept at around 12:30 this morning chatting with some of our new neighbors and the owner our new apartment. They are beautiful people. I really had fun (while coughing) talking with them. They somehow interrogate me about my job and I am deafen by the sentence Ang swerte nyo naman.

Missing
Today as I was riding the shuttle bus I came to realize that I miss the sun. Its shining face glowing everywhere. Its warming touch in the morning (but not at noon, oh please). I missed the sun.
Right now I'm having trouble with my sore throat. It really sucks that I cough on the average of 7 cough sessions per minute. Isn't that great? I will survive. Truth shall prevail. I will be healthy once again.
See you soon, my friend. *cough* *cough*

Analog Magic
Have you ever wonder how magicians change a human into a tiger? How about making the card disappear and make it reappear? Is it really magic? Yes, it is.
According to Wikipedia, magic is an art of performing illusions and tricks (most magicians prefer effects than tricks). It is entertaining people, not making fun of them nor making them feel stupid (though some feel stupid). Magic is fun especially if you know how it is done and how to perform it. As quoted from Jay Sankey, "Knowing the trick doesn't make you a magician." Most people think they are superior when they know the trick but I pity them. That's not what magic is. Magic is more than knowing it.
Just like music, magic has different genre. Magic isn't only making elephant disappear, it isn't only cutting the sexy assistant into half, it isn't only making a person levitate. There are many to mention. One of them is the close-up magic.
Close-up magic unlike stage magic is performing the craft near to an audience. It is the magic that I consider performing. Why? It is cheaper in materials and tools needed, nearer to the audience, and could interact better with the audience than stage magic. There are three basic types of close-up magic that I could think of. The first is card magic, second is rope magic, and third is coin magic.
Card magic. Deals with cards (amazed?). This magic is the easiest among the three. It would take only a minute to teach an apprentice with the simplest effect. This where I started my craft. Some cards have nice effects. Some cards are used in sleight of hands. For a laymen (non magicians), cards with effects are better to use. They have better impact. For fellow magicians, sleights are more preferable. Some magicians mix the two subcategories of card magic for a better impact. My point here is that a magician also considers who will be his audience. Different tools for different applications. Ask an electrian if he used a hammer to repair a television.
Rope magic. Deals with ropes (amazed again?). This magic is easier than coin magic. But unlike card magic, it requires serious practice. I am still mastering the art in cards. I will be learning with ropes soon. So what is rope magic? If you had been a boy or girl scout or a mountaineer, you know different types of knots. In rope magic, you are required to know most of them. Ropes require knots.
Coin magic. Deals with coins (amazed again and again?). This magic is easy to do. But unlike the two other subcategories of close-up magic, it requires you to practice and practice more and more seriously (exaggerated? Not really. Still not enough). You should have soft hands when you deal with this. It is normal for a newbie (like me) to have hard hands. I tell you, it is painful when you do the basic routines of coin magic. I am still softening my hands. But I have a problem which I cannot expose. I am also having a hard time with coin magic.
You maybe thinking why is coin magic easy when I'm having a hard time learning and practicing it. Magic is easy if you are determined to learn and practice. As the great Dai Vernon said, even if it is a simple trick but you practice it over and over again, that will make a big difference. Practice makes perfect.
It is almost time to pack up. See you again in my next post.
Magically,
Niño

Reality Check 101
Twenty three years of existence. What have I accomplished so far?
- Still alive and breathing after 23 years
- Finished primary, secondary, and tertiary schooling
- Had my first job interview then got the job
- Bought my own guitar
- Bought my own pillows, pillow cases, bed sheets, and air bed
- Finished reading five books within 23 years
- Using my 9th sim
- Drank 5 cups of coffee in a day
- Got a passing grade without even entering the class and its required laboratory reports
- ...and the best of all, Others.
If I Am
by Nine Days
So your standing on a ledge,
It looks like you might fall.
So far down,
Or maybe you were thinking about jumping.
Now you could have it all,
If you learned a little patience!
For though I cannot fly,
I'm not content to crawl!...
So give me a little credit,
Have in me a little faith!
I want to be with you forever,
If tomorrow's not too late!...
And it's always too late when you've got nothing
So you say!...
But you should never let the sun set on tomorrow,
Before the sun rises today...
IF I AM!
Another waste of everything you dreamed of,
I will let you down...
IF I AM!
Only here to watch you as you suffer,
I will let you down...
So your walking on the edge,
And you wait your turn to fall.
But you're so far gone,
That you don't see the hands upheld to catch you.
And you could find the fault,
In the heart that you've been handed!
For though you cannot fly,
You're not content to crawl!...
And it's always too late when you've got nothing
So you say!...
But you should never let the sun set on tomorrow,
Before the sun rises...
IF I AM!
Another waste of everything you hoped for,
I will let you down...

IF I AM!
Only here to watch you as you suffer,
I will let you down...
The answers we find,
Are never what we had in mind.
So we make it up as we go along...
You don't talk of dreams
I won't mention tomorrow.
And we won't make those promises that we can't keep...
I will never leave you!
I will not let you down!
I will never leave you!
I will not let you down!
So your standing on a ledge,
It looks like you might fall.

I will let you down...
So you're standing on a ledge,
It looks like you might fall...
IF I AM!
Another waste of everything you dreamed of,
I will let you down...
IF I AM!
Only here to watch you as you suffer,
I will let you down...
The answers we find,
Are never what we had in mind.
So we make it up as we go along...
You don't talk of dreams
I won't mention tomorrow.
And we won't make those promises that we can't keep...
I will never leave you!
I will not let you down!
I will never leave you!
I will not let you down!

Stars Above
To whom it may concern,
There are a lot of people who think better or worse than I am. But I know for sure that I know myself better than anybody in most aspects of my life. Ia have been with myself for the past 23 years. It is indeed a big trap to assume.
I pity those people who think they are better than I am. Those who think that they are innocent but not me. Those who think they are as clean as a white sheet of paper but not me. A lot of those people exist even in your own family. If somebody told me that I am stupid I would gladly accept it if that person is not stupid. Unfortunately, most people are. Judge others if you are done judging yourself. Find your flaws first before you find the flaws of others. Look in front of the mirror. Don't be sarcastic my friend. If you are really innocent, admit first that you are not.
Do not do unto others what you do not want others do unto you. Simple as that. Stop making stupid stuff to others if you don't want to feel stupid. Be considerate. Be sensitive.
Think well and God bless you my friend.
Your friend,
Niño

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park
PHILIPPINES: Puerto Princesa
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is located about 50 km north of the city of Puerto Princesa, Palawan, Philippines. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It includes major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. The lower portion of the river is subject to tidal influences. The underground river is reputed to be the world's longest. At the mouth of the cave, a clear lagoon is framed by ancient trees growing right to the water's edge. Monkeys, large monitor lizards, and squirrels find their niche on the beach near the cave.

Fish For Sale
I have been selfish to most people and to myself. I want everything to be in perfect. I am a perfectionist.
Today, I realized (again) how life is imperfectly perfect. There are a lot of things that I am not comfortable with then blame it to anybody or anything else. I am blessed that I get to let my feelings out to a friend (thanks barbie!). Do I have personality crisis? I think. Yes.
Reflection:
Raise me up dear Lord for I am weak. May you grant me strength to face my life's imperfections for I know they are perfect. Amen.
So, I will do my best, my friend, to be semi-perfectionist. I cannot change overnight, right?
Best regards,
Niño

Oxygen
I admit, I am addicted to oxygen. Just like drugs, it is addicting. Everyday, I get to have it. Every hour, every minute, every second. It is simply addicting.
This morning, I woke up around 4 o'clock short on breathing. I had breathed deep, grasped more oxygen until I stabilized. It was a hard experience, but I guess not as hard as those who have serious problems with their breathings. Many of us experience waking up in the morning short on breathing. It is normal for us to inhale as many oxygen as we could simply because we are addicted to it.

The greatest teaching is LOVE. Love your god (I love God in my case), love your family, love your friends, love your enemies, love the animals, love our planet, love all tangible and non-tangible things, love...love...love. Nothing is wrong with it.
Love is oxygen, we are all addicted to it (even atheists). Breath as many oxygen as you should. Breath as many Love as you could. We are addicted to both anyway.
Concentrate now...breath in, breath out....ohhhh.
Your lover,
Niño
P.S. Love for money is not bad. Being obsessed with money is bad.

Glimpse
Each morning I always hope of seeing somebody. A glimpse is fine with me.
I wake up each morning excited for office work. I hate weekends. Do you know why? No office work. No yummy meals at the canteen (it is subsidized which makes it yummier). No aircon (it's summer...and it's hot!). And no glimpse of somebody.
Today at breakfast I had kangkong, half-cup of rice, and coffee. It is my best breakfast as it was and as it will. I had a nice view of the parking area, the Intel plant site (savoring the remaining days of Intel), and the glimpse of her.
A good friend of mine (and a good teacher) told me before that I am crazy when I like somebody. I guess she is right. Just imagine me cancelling an activity that I planned to do regularly for a glimpse of her. Crazy, huh?
Anyway, lecture will start in a while. See you again in my next postings!

I Am But A Small Voice
I have a lot of insecurities (poor those who doesn't have one). I am insecure to somebody who is wiser than I am, richer than I am, more talented than I am, more attractive than I am, and many to mention. Why does God make somebody greater than I am? Simply because He wants me to be challenged. Everyday, I meet a lot of people who are better, greater, and whateverer than I am.
Two days ago, I bought the book Tuesdays With Morrie (For those who know me that much, I guess you are laughing at me right now). I am amazed how Morrie embraced the truth of the time left for his life. If most of us were in his shoes we would probably get sad. We might get mad at the world, we might mess the remaining minutes of our lives, we might do negative this and that. But not Morrie. Though I haven't finished reading the book yet (due to technical reasons...damn, when do I get to poo poo that book), I am awakened by the truth. One must think of dying in order to live. Sounds weird, but it is true. From Og Mandino's book The Greatest Salesman, one of the scrolls is "I live today as if it were my last." Today is today. It is not tomorrow, not yesterday, but today. How am I relating this to my insecurities? First I acknowledge that I am inferior, then I get rid of it, then I am challenged. I strive for my survival. I eat those who are better than me (just kidding). I strive for the better me not tomorrow, but today. Each day is a today. Scientifically, you will be asked: How do you evolve?.
Oh man, how's the Wall Street doing lately?

April 16, 2008 Post
Today is April 16, 2008.
Time is fast. It was February 16, 2008 when I first came in Cavite. I could not believe it---two months had already passed. Recalling the day two months ago, it was tough for me. After 23 years of my existence in Iloilo City, here I am in Cavite for a job. As expected, I "brought my house" with me. I had five baggages which all in all summed up to 43 kgs. I paid the extra weight for about PhP700. It was indeed tough for me carrying those baggages! But tougher when you see your family waving their good byes. It was my first time to leave them and live on my own.
Two months is like two seconds. Time is so fast you hardly notice. I guess, as I am posting this blog I will be reading this a month from now like I posted it a second ago during that time.
